Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the North East region, based in Boldon. You will oversee medium to large projects, driving commercial performance and profitability while applying best practice in cost control, procurement, and reporting.

You will mentor junior surveyors, review contract terms for risk and opportunity, and manage cash flow, variations, and final accounts. A competitive package and flexible benefits await the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience managing the commercial aspects of medium to large MEP/construction projects.
• GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
• A relevant BSc/degree or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety-first culture on projects.
• Mentor and guide Quantity Surveyors and Assistants.
• Review and interpret contract terms, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with contract aspects and liaise with project teams.
• Manage the agreement process for changes to contractual obligations.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and manage payment submissions.
• Monitor and forecast costs and revenue throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in the procurement and management of subcontractors.
• Provide accurate reporting on costs, projections and margins.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
• Collaborate to negotiate final account settlements.
• Maintain records and reports; support dispute resolution processes.
