Job summary

Kier Mechanical & Electrical (KME) based in Darlington is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on complex MEP projects across the UK.

You will manage contracts and subcontracts, undertake valuations, lead procurement, assess risks and mentor junior staff, delivering projects from early procurement to final account. A degree in QS and SMSTS/CSCS are required, with driving license essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying is required.
• SMSTS/CSCS card required.
• Experience delivering schemes with knowledge of JCT/NEC forms.
• Technical understanding of MEPH services, components and interfaces.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and build relationships.
• Valid driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial resources to maximise gross margins through contracts and subcontracts.
• Undertake valuations, measure change, and produce monthly cost reports and forecasts.
• Lead procurement activities including subcontract enquiries, tender reviews and orders.
• Assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks while driving margin improvement.
• Mentor and develop junior commercial staff.
