Job summary

1st Step Solutions is seeking a Senior MEP Project Manager for a major commercial project in Newmarket on a contract basis. The role requires a track record in managing M&E or similar large-scale schemes, with responsibility for contract management and delivery within budget and time constraints.

You will lead programmes, manage budgets, resources and quality plans, ensuring a smooth handover to the client. Strong communication and health & safety focus are essential.

1st Step Solutions are supporting a leading Tier 1 M&E Contractor who have an opportunity for a Senior MEP Project Manager to be based on a commercial project in Newmarket.

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record in project management, particularly within the commercial sector or similar related projects with values between 30 - 40mil. Ideally, you will have experience of demonstrating responsibility for full Contract Management at this level.

Responsibilities

• Develop, control, and ensure delivery against the project budgets including profit, preliminaries and procurements.
• Implement detailed programmes and schedules which allow accurate monitoring and reporting of progress
• Secure and manage the appropriate resources to deliver the project / scheme effectively and efficiently in a professional manner to ensure successful delivery within project constraints.
• Implement and manage the development of the Project Quality Plan, Trade Quality Plans, and Defect rectification procedures
• Ensure there is a successful and smooth handover of the project, including support to customer/ end user throughout the handover process.

Requirements

• CSCS/SMSTS.
• Mechanical or electrical bias.
• HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering desirable.
• Experience of working at a senior level on M&E projects, as well as ideally having had responsibility for full contract management.
• Effective communicator at all levels.
• Capability to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely manner.
• Good computer skills especially with Microsoft Office.
• Be aware of health and safety requirements and the continual assessment/control of risk.
• Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
