Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking a senior MEP leader to drive delivery of complex UK projects. You will own the MEP strategy, lead both mechanical and electrical teams, and coordinate with subcontractors and the wider construction programme to achieve handover.

The role requires programme and project management excellence, strong stakeholder engagement, and robust commercial/contractual awareness. Experience on MOD/MOJ projects is preferred but not essential.

Job description

Our client:

Our client are a well-established and highly respected building services and engineering tier 1 contractor with a strong track record of delivering complex MEP projects across the UK. Their capabilities cover the full building services lifecycle, from design and installation through to commissioning, completion and handover.

The role:

The successful candidate will take a senior leadership position with responsibility for driving the MEP works through to successful completion. The role requires strong programme awareness, leadership and project control, together with the ability to manage multiple technical and operational interfaces within a secure environment.

You will take ownership of the MEP delivery strategy, lead mechanical and electrical project teams, specialist subcontractors and suppliers, and coordinate MEP works with the wider construction programme. You will monitor progress against programme, identify risks and implement mitigation or recovery strategies where required, while managing subcontractor performance and maintaining effective relationships with the client, consultants, contractors and wider project stakeholders.

The position will also involve working closely with commercial and planning teams, resolving technical and design issues, maintaining quality and health and safety standards, managing contractual requirements and driving testing, commissioning, completion and handover. Clear and regular reporting to senior management will be expected throughout the project.

The ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate will be an established senior MEP professional with proven experience delivering large-scale MEP projects or packages, ideally £15M+. You will have strong mechanical and electrical building services knowledge, excellent programme and project management awareness and a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractors and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have strong commercial and contractual awareness, excellent communication and decision-making skills, and the leadership presence required to take ownership of a major project. Experience working MOD/MOJ projects would be preferred but not essential.
