Job summary

HDS Consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Manager to drive end-to-end M&E project delivery across London-based schemes, ranging from £2m to £15m. The role focuses on leadership, client relationships and delivering projects on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will mentor junior staff and work with Directors to push business growth, with strong career progression toward senior management in a growing contractor.

Our client is a rapidly growing, well-established M&E contractor with a current turnover of circa £60m and a clear strategic plan to grow to £120m over the next five years. As part of this expansion, they are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager who can play a key role in the business and be developed into senior management over the coming years.

The company delivers a strong portfolio of commercial new build, commercial fit-out, and life sciences projects, with individual project values ranging from £2m to £15m, primarily across Greater London.

Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience delivering M&E projects within the £2m–£15m range
• Strong background in commercial, fit-out, or life sciences sectors
• Excellent leadership, commercial awareness, and client-facing skills
• Ambitious, career-driven, and keen to progress into a senior leadership role

Responsible For

• - Full project lifecycle delivery of M&E projects from pre-construction through to handover
• - Managing project teams, subcontractors, and key client relationships
• - Commercial responsibility including programme, cost control, variations, and risk management
• - Working closely with Directors to support business growth and operational improvement
• - Opportunity to mentor and develop junior project management staff
