Job summary

AM Global is seeking an experienced MEP Cost Consultant to join our client’s Blyth-based team on a permanent basis. The Senior Cost Consultant will support the commercial delivery of a major hyperscale data centre programme and lead post-contract commercial management across large capital works.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost and commercial management on complex construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong post-contract experience, including change control, valuations, forecasting and final accounts.
• Experience supporting commercial delivery across major work packages on large, technically complex projects.
• Ability to work with contractors, consultants and client stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills providing commercial insight.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Director in commercial management of major capital packages from procurement to final account.
• Develop and convert GMP packages into agreed contract sums.
• Manage key packages including MEP, civils, piling, structures, and CSA.
• Assist in final accounts with contractors and supply chain partners.
• Administer contracts (FIDIC-based) and governance; review valuations and change control.
• Input cost reports, forecasts, CVRs and executive dashboards; review tender analyses.
• Monitor cost performance within budgets and identify variances.
• Collaborate with design, PMO, construction, procurement and commissioning teams.
