Job summary

Response is seeking a Senior Mental Health Support Worker at Grove House in Oxford to deliver high-quality, person-centred support within a recovery-focused service. You will lead shifts, guide colleagues and help residents progress toward independent living while maintaining safe, respectful environments.

The role includes mentoring staff, promoting inclusion and applying trauma-informed approaches to support plans and daily activities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with mental health needs.
• Recovery-focused and person-centred practice understanding.
• Experience supporting assessments, referrals or risk management processes.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence to lead and support colleagues.
• Commitment to continuous learning and development.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate shifts to ensure high-quality support is delivered.
• Support residents through their recovery journey using a person-centred approach.
• Manage medication processes and ensure safe working practices.
• Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to Support Workers.
• Assist with assessments, support planning and risk management.
• Respond to incidents, safeguarding concerns and complaints when required.
• Promote a positive culture built around respect, collaboration and inclusion.
• Support residents with practical life skills such as budgeting, cooking, travel and tenancy management.
• Encourage access to employment, training, education and community opportunities.
• Champion trauma-informed practice and recovery-focused support.

Senior Mental Health Support Worker

£28,938 - £32,214 per annum (depending on experience)
37 hours per week | Rotating shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins
