Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a senior staff nurse for Perran Ward, an adult acute mental health unit. You will lead day-to-day ward operations, deputise for the ward manager and provide clinical direction to the in-patient multidisciplinary team.

The role involves rotating shifts including weekends/bank holidays, delivering safe, recovery-focused care in line with the NMC Code, and supporting discharge planning with professionals, carers and community staff.

Qualifications

• Registered nursing qualification (NMC/HCPC) is essential.
• Postgraduate training in relevant specialty is desirable.
• Experience in leading a multidisciplinary in-patient team.

The post-holder leads the day-to-day running of the ward, deputises for the ward manager and gives clinical direction and supervision to the in-patient multidisciplinary team. The role involves rotational shifts that include weekends and bank holidays, with a flexible approach across the service. Current NMC or HCPC registration is essential, and supervisor or assessor training is required or must be in progress.

What the job involves

Qualifications

• Supervisor or assessor qualification, or working towards one
