Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a senior staff nurse for Perran Ward, an adult acute mental health unit. You will lead day-to-day ward operations, deputise for the ward manager and provide clinical direction to the in-patient multidisciplinary team.

The role involves rotating shifts including weekends/bank holidays, delivering safe, recovery-focused care in line with the NMC Code, and supporting discharge planning with professionals, carers and community staff.

Qualifications

• Registered nursing qualification (NMC/HCPC) is essential.
• Postgraduate training in relevant specialty is desirable.
• Experience in leading a multidisciplinary in-patient team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day running of the ward as the senior nurse.
• Deputise for the ward manager when required.
• Provide clinical leadership to the in-patient multidisciplinary team through supervision and direction.
• Deliver safe and effective care in line with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
• Collaborate with professionals, carers and community staff to support discharge planning.
• Work rotational shifts including weekends and bank holidays; support rehabilitation and recovery.
