As an experienced Nurse from the NHS or private sector, you'll join the team at Thornford Park, working in the Male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit as a Senior Mental Health Nurse (RMN) for 37.5 hours per week (12.5-hour shifts), where you will change lives for the better.

What you will be doing

As a qualified Senior Mental Health Nurse (RMN), you will ensure people with mental health conditions receive high-quality care, support your colleagues, and promote positive teamwork. The wards are busy, engaging, and varied. Your daily tasks will include:

• Providing compassionate nursing care to service users
• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care
• Mentoring and supporting team members
• Observing, recording, and reporting service user changes, maintaining accurate records

Skills and knowledge required include a relevant nursing qualification, NMC registration, at least 18 months of experience, strong teamwork skills, self-motivation, flexibility, a caring attitude, and a commitment to high-quality, evidence-based care.

Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET. The facility offers secure units and rehabilitation flats, providing personalized assessment and treatment for males with mental illness or complex needs, including those with histories of offending or previous placement failures.
