Senior MEICA Planner — Project Controls Lead

Job summary

Matchtech is supporting a client in the nuclear sector to appoint a Senior Planner (M&E) who will drive MEICA project controls from design through installation and handover, with the requirement to hold or obtain SC clearance.

You will lead planning for pre-contract and contract operations, coordinate with design and construction teams, manage the programme, apply EVM/QSRA, and mentor junior planners on multi-discipline major projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in programme controls, cost and risk analysis on major multi-discipline projects.
• Ability to plan design and construction works from first principles on multi-discipline projects.
• Extensive site experience in management or supervisory roles.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and understanding of 3D BIM models.
• Experience with NEC contracts and change management principles.
• Strong understanding of EPC/ECI projects and construction sequences.
• Able to liaise with delivery partners and challenge them where needed.
• Degree or equivalent in a core business discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide planning management and support to pre-contract and contract operations for the business.
• Coordinate with design and construction teams to manage planning and programming across frameworks and multiple projects.
• Produce and manage the design & construction programme and communicate to internal and external customers and major stakeholders.
• Incorporate change events into the design and construction programme with the commercial team to secure full entitlement under the contract.
• Track design deliverables, update procurement schedules, and monitor supply chain performance.
• Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) for detailed reporting and programme acceptance.
• Proactively use QSRA and manage project risks.
• Provide mentoring and coaching to assistant planners and planners.
