Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Technical Planner to join the Nuclear; Defence and Civil team in the UK. You will lead planning activities for large infrastructure programmes, drive clarity across schedules, and coordinate with project managers, cost engineers, and control managers to ensure alignment of timelines, risks, and resources.

You will mentor a team of planners, apply EV techniques, work with Primavera P6, Bentley Synchro, and BIM models, and uphold HSE standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning, developing detailed resourced schedules, and applying EV techniques on engineering projects.
• Expertise in Primavera P6 and managing a portfolio of schedules
• Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels
• Awareness of emerging technologies and innovations in project planning.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of schedules with clear outputs for stakeholders.
• Ensure schedules follow procedures and best practices.
• Apply EV principles and analyse variances with mitigation.
• Collaborate with lead and management roles for project success.
• Optimise schedule structures and implement improvements.
• Apply change control measures ( NEC contract model ).
• Conduct schedule integrity checks and identify critical paths.
• Underpin EACs with cost engineers and project managers.
• Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules and responsible credit rules.
• Use Bentley Synchro, Primavera P6, and BIM models for detailed plans.
• Ensure plans capture full scope, risks, Opportunities, and Health & Safety.
