An established industry player is seeking a dedicated pharmacist to lead the Medicines Optimisation team. The post holder will be responsible for providing expert pharmaceutical, prescribing, and medicines optimisation advice to relevant stakeholders to ensure the implementation of the medicines optimisation agenda.
They will promote evidence-based, safe, and cost-effective prescribing to improve patient outcomes and reduce health inequalities through effective collaboration across secondary, intermediate, primary, community, and social care services.
The role includes providing clinical support and leadership within the Medicines Optimisation team and supporting the implementation of medicines optimisation initiatives aligned with national and local guidance.

Engage with provider organizations to develop clinical guidelines, shared care protocols, and formularies to ensure clinical relevance and accuracy.
Participate in local and GM groups as the clinical specialist, demonstrating stakeholder management skills across departments and levels.
Influence prescribing costs, promote cost-effective practices, and minimize wastage.
Develop and monitor policies, guidelines, and protocols aligned with priorities, legislation, and ethics to ensure safe and effective medicine use.
Accurately record and report activity and outcome data, supporting NHS GM and national objectives such as QIPP targets and NICE guidance implementation.
Lead on specific clinical issues or projects as required.
