Job summary

LCW seeks a Medicines Management lead to provide specialist pharmaceutical advice to medical and nursing staff, ensuring evidence-based medicines optimisation across LCW sites. The role includes leading audits, policy development, staff training, and chairing meetings as needed.

You will oversee stock control, compliance with controlled drug procedures, and contribute to quality governance across the organisation, aligning with NICE guidelines and national standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist pharmaceutical advice to medical, ACP and nursing staff on the use of medicines.
• Lead medicines management audits and contribute to governance through clinical audit, peer review and risk management processes.
• Coordinate storage, stock control and distribution of medicines across LCW sites and ensure compliance with controlled drug procedures.
• Assist in authoring policies and guidelines relating to medicines, including Patient Group Directions, and support learning across teams.
• Deliver training and conduct 1-2-1 coaching with operational and clinical leads; chair medicines management meetings when requested.
