Senior Medical Copywriter

McCann Health London is currently recruiting for a Senior Medical Copywriter. We seek a skilled professional who can write and develop high-quality promotional healthcare content for assigned accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.

The role involves taking ownership of brands while maintaining scientific integrity and attention to detail across all outputs. The Senior Medical Copywriter will oversee the work of junior writers, ensuring consistency in style and messaging. They will participate in new business pitches and serve as a leader and inspiration in scientific thought and copywriting excellence.

Must Have:
  • Knowledge/Expertise: Strong understanding of medical copywriting and ability to mentor others.
  • Strategic Skills/Tools: Experience in creating communication strategies, tactics, and content.
  • Client Relationships: Confidence in presenting work and handling MLR questions.
  • Business Development: Support for new pitches and identifying growth opportunities.
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Develop compelling promotional copy that is scientifically accurate and meets client briefs.
  2. Deep understanding of therapy areas, media formats, and marketing techniques.
  3. Ensure content compliance with ABPI code of practice or relevant regulations, backed by research.
  4. Proficient in using Veeva, FUSE, and Proof.
  5. Analyze complex scientific information to create clear, targeted summaries.
  6. Produce high-quality medical copy for various channels including sales aids, websites, videos, animations, and patient materials.
  7. Participate in briefing sessions and client meetings as required.
  8. Present work confidently to clients, addressing medical writing questions and troubleshooting as needed.
