Job summary

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Medical Administrator in the Gastroenterology Department to join our team on a permanent basis. The role is Band 4, full-time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00) based at Bradford Royal Infirmary, with HR processes and patient administration responsibilities.

You will manage outpatient and inpatient waiting lists, validate RTT pathways, reschedule appointments, and provide efficient diary management,

We have a vacancy for 2x Band 4 Senior Medical Administrator to join our Gastroenterology Department team on a permanent basis. It is essential that the successful applicant is able to work effectively as part of the team supporting and assisting colleagues, whilst prioritising and managing their workload.

Main duties of the job

For the Senior Medical Administrator role you will work within a multi-disciplinary team, and be responsible for a range of duties related to patient pathway management, including, but not limited to: managing outpatient and inpatient waiting lists, validation of patients RTT pathways, rescheduling appointments; diary management; audio transcription and word processing of clinical letters; production of reports and other correspondence as required for the Gastroenterology department.

You should be literate and numerate, with excellent organizational, time management and IT skills and an ability to work without supervision.

Medical secretarial and admin experience is essential. An audio typing test will be required at interview.

You will have a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels. You will have enthusiasm, motivation and demonstrate pride in your work.

  • Knowledge of Patient Administration System (or equivalent system)
  • Medical Terminology
Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE standard*
  • An appropriate speed and accuracy of typing is required for this role and this will be assessed at interview
