Job summary

Vax is seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to bring future product concepts to life by integrating mechanical, electrical and embedded technologies. You will rapidly build, test and refine demonstrators that reduce technical uncertainty and accelerate learning.

Working with Advanced Development, Design Research and Industrial Design, you’ll bridge disciplines to create compelling consumer experiences through practical, hands‑on engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Robotics or related field.
• 8+ years in electromechanical or consumer product development.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering and embedded systems.
• Experience integrating sensors, motors, actuators and controllers.
• Experience prototyping with development boards and rapid methods.
• Ability to write embedded software or scripts.
• Cross-disciplinary work with engineering and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly integrate mechanical, electrical and embedded technologies into product concepts.
• Design, build and validate demonstrators with sensing and control.
• Develop experimental rigs and prototypes to answer key questions.
• De-risk technologies and mature concepts via rapid experiments.
• Integrate sensors, actuators, motors and embedded controllers into products.
• Collaborate with Advanced Engineers to realize concepts.
• Troubleshoot multidisciplinary systems and implement practical fixes.
• Evaluate emerging technologies with suppliers and global teams.
• Present concepts and recommendations clearly.
