Job summary

Newton Colmore is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a Cambridge-based biotech mechatronics project. You will drive the hardware development of a novel life-saving device, collaborating with physicists, scientists, and engineers.

The role leverages 3D CAD expertise (ideally SOLIDWORKS) and requires experience in mechatronics, automation, robotics, or other complex electro-mechanical tech. Start-up/scale-up or Biotech/Medical Devices exposure is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechatronics, automation, robotics, or complex electro-mechanical tech.
• Background in startups/scale-ups or medical devices/ biotech/scientific design consultancy desirable.
• Degree and Masters in related field are required.

Responsibilities

• Accelerate proof of concept, design, development, building and testing of the biotech device hardware.
• Collaborate with Medical Devices Physicists, Scientists, Electronics Engineers and Design Engineers.
• Work with 3D CAD to develop the device, preferably using SOLIDWORKS.
