Job summary

METLEN Energy & Metals in Murton is seeking a Mechanical Site Supervisor to join the Grid & Digital Solutions Department for the EGL1 Project delivery. You will supervise day-to-day mechanical construction activities on site and lead subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality execution of works.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities in live construction environments.
• Familiarity with UK construction and HSE regulations preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent command of English.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating day-to-day mechanical construction activities on site.
• Leading mechanical subcontractors and site teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of works.
• Monitoring installation of mechanical equipment, piping systems, steel structures, and related plant infrastructure.
• Ensuring all mechanical works comply with project specifications, drawings, procedures and applicable standards.
• Monitoring construction progress, workforce productivity, and site performance against milestones.
• Identifying technical issues, site constraints and potential delays and supporting timely resolutions.
• Verifying availability of materials, tools, equipment and resources for site activities.
• Conducting routine inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
• Supporting mechanical testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Coordinating with engineering, construction, quality and HSE teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Preparing daily and weekly progress reports and maintaining site records.
• Promoting the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance on site.
