Job summary

METLEN Energy & Metals is seeking a Mechanical Site Supervisor to join the Grid & Digital Solutions Department for the EGL1 Project in Murton. You will supervise day-to-day mechanical construction activities, lead subcontractors, and ensure safe, compliant onsite execution.

Prospective candidates should have a technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction within energy sectors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction projects, including supervision of installation works.
• Experience with subcontractors and live construction environments.
• Knowledge of UK construction and HSE regulations is advantageous.
• Proficient in reading drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating day-to-day mechanical construction activities on site.
• Leading mechanical subcontractors and site teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of works.
• Monitoring the installation of mechanical equipment, piping systems, steel structures, and associated plant infrastructure.
• Ensuring all mechanical works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings, procedures, and applicable standards.
• Monitoring construction progress, workforce productivity, and site performance against project milestones.
• Identifying technical issues, site constraints, and potential delays while supporting their timely resolution.
• Verifying the availability of materials, tools, equipment, and resources required for site activities.
• Conducting routine inspections to ensure quality standards are achieved throughout the construction phase.
• Supporting mechanical testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Coordinating with engineering, construction, quality, and HSE teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Preparing daily and weekly progress reports and maintaining accurate site records.
• Promoting and enforcing the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance on site.
