Senior Mechanical QA/QC Lead – Data Centre Projects

Job summary

Sustainable Infrastructure in Blyth, UK, is seeking an experienced Quality Lead to join a major data centre project on-site. You will oversee QA/QC of mechanical works, ensure compliance with project specifications, standards and regulatory requirements, and coordinate with the construction team, subcontractors and consultants.

Key duties include implementing QA/QC procedures, inspecting HVAC and piping systems, reviewing ITPs and Method Statements, managing NCRs, maintaining documentation,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3+ years' experience in a QA/QC role within mechanical construction.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, standards and documentation.
• Experience inspecting mechanical systems, particularly HVAC, piping and associated services.
• Experience managing NCRs, corrective actions and quality inspections.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Experience within data centres, industrial or mission-critical projects is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure mechanical installations comply with specifications, drawings and standards.
• Conduct inspections of mechanical systems, including HVAC and piping.
• Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors and consultants.
• Review and approve ITPs, Method Statements and technical submittals.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and NCR management.
• Maintain QA/QC documentation and support commissioning.
• Attend site and quality meetings and drive continuous improvement.
