Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager for on-site work in Blyth, England. You will direct all mechanical construction activities, drive safe, timely, and cost-effective project execution, and ensure adherence to design specs on a major data centre site.

Key tasks include site management, QA/QC, coordination with planners and sub-contractors, design reviews, progress reporting, and enforcing a strong health and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical construction experience with a strong emphasis on on-site management.
• Experience managing HVAC, piping, and building services on large-scale builds.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day mechanical site operations and oversee all installation activities.
• Enforce QA/QC procedures to meet design specs and high standards.
• Coordinate with Planners, Project Managers, consultants, and sub-contractors to align programmes and buildability.
• Oversee sub-contractor performance, track progress and maintain safety documentation.
• Review drawings and specifications to resolve issues and align with project timeline.
• Lead site meetings, engineering reviews, and handover sessions with progress reporting.
