Job summary

Matchtech Group is recruiting for a Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to join the on-site team in Blyth, UK, supporting mission-critical data centre projects. You will drive QA/QC across mechanical installations, ensuring compliance with project specs, drawings and standards.

Key responsibilities include developing QA procedures, managing ITPs and NCR workflows, and coordinating with Construction and Project Management to resolve issues and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven track record as a QA/QC Engineer on large-scale construction projects.
• Experience developing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), managing QA documentation, and NCR workflows.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical inspection and surveillance of piping, HVAC, pumps, chillers, AHUs, and insulation.
• Develop and maintain QA/QC procedures for mechanical packages.
• Review and manage ITPs, method statements, pressure-testing logs, and quality documentation.
• Perform on-site audits, quality audits, FAT reviews, and issue NCRs with timely close-out.
• Support engineering in solving quality issues and implement CAPA actions.
• Verify incoming mechanical plant, valves, piping materials, and equipment documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date test certificates and quality dossiers for project tracking.
• Assist with project handover, commissioning records, and O&M manuals.
