Job summary

Winthrop Technologies Ltd. in Blyth, United Kingdom, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our on-site team.

You will oversee all mechanical scopes for data centre and large-scale projects, ensuring delivery safely, on schedule and within budget. The role requires a hands-on leader with a proven track record coordinating mechanical design and build, managing subcontractors, and driving productivity through daily plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience managing large-scale mechanical projects.
• Data centre project experience is highly desirable.
• Trade or engineering qualification preferred.
• Proven ability to control scope, schedule and budget.
• Strong communication and leadership across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of the mechanical scope of works, ensuring delivery in line with project specifications, schedule, and budget.
• Analyse, track, and manage critical milestone activities to prevent schedule delays.
• Review construction proposals, including scope and cost assessments.
• Lead and mentor project teams, including engineers, package managers, supervisors and foremen.
• Engage with project stakeholders, including clients, to ensure clear communication and alignment on goals.
• Liaise with design teams and subcontractors to ensure project delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
• Take a leading role in driving productivity through effective weekly and daily work plans.
• Plan and coordinate day-to-day site operations in conjunction with package managers.
• Oversee and manage subcontractor performance, tracking progress against schedule and manpower requirements.
• Coordinate activities with subcontractors operating in shared work areas to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient progress.
