Job summary

Giga Energy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to act as the on-site Design Engineering representative at active data center construction sites. You will oversee hydronic and HVAC systems, review field installations for compliance, and coordinate with design teams and contractors to resolve issues.

The role requires deep experience with hydronic cooling, direct-to-chip liquid cooling, and building services for data centers and office spaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in mechanical engineering with hydronic/HVAC design, construction or commissioning.
• Experience on data centers or mission-critical facilities is a plus.
• Familiar with direct-to-chip liquid cooling and high-density cooling tech.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site Design Engineering representative through construction, startup and commissioning.
• Ensure field installations meet design intent, drawings, specs and codes.
• Provide technical oversight of hydronic and data center cooling systems.
• Review field changes and provide sound recommendations to design team.
• Coordinate HVAC with architectural, electrical, controls, and other systems.
• Support commissioning, TAB, testing and system performance verification.
• Identify constructability issues early and escalate when needed.
