Job summary

Vantage Data Centers in London is seeking a Principal Mechanical Program Engineer to shape the mechanical systems and design of our digital infrastructure. You will provide technical leadership, support project engineers, and drive standardization of equipment for modular, scalable, and reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 10+ years in mechanical engineering with a data center focus.
• Experience in EMEA construction markets.
• Strong knowledge of data center cooling and power infrastructure.
• Willingness to travel (monthly/short trips).

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering inputs during site selection, design and planning.
• Serve as technical authority with hyperscale customers and investors.
• Lead on mechanical elements of product development and standardization.
• Develop updates to mechanical design standards and specs.
• Develop standardized, optimized mechanical equipment in OFCI inventory.
• Generate high-value engineering ideas with cost-benefit analysis.
• Engage with internal/external partners to share knowledge and resolve issues.
• Deliver mechanical designs using DfMA principles (HVAC, piping, etc.).
• Coordinate interfaces with sustainability, electrical, structural, and architectural teams.
• Support CFD studies to assess airflow and heat transfer under varying conditions.
