Job summary

Kinetic plc in Durham is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join an established engineering team. You will disassemble, inspect, repair and re-assemble pumps and rotating equipment, ensuring work meets safety, quality and customer requirements.

The role requires reading schematics and manuals, solving problems and prioritising workload to meet deadlines. Overtime and a pension scheme are available in a collaborative, workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Time-served fitter/engineer with a mechanical background.
• Proven experience working with pumps and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect and repair pumps and rotating equipment.
• Re-assemble to required standards and specifications.
• Work to deadlines with high quality.
• Assist with technical reports per company/customer requirements.
• Follow industry standards and company procedures.
• Read and interpret drawings and manuals.
• Identify issues and support problem solving.
• Prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
• Work as part of a small engineering team.
• Maintain understanding of pumps and rotating equipment.
• Work overtime when required.
