Job summary

Kinetic plc in Durham is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join an established engineering team. You will disassemble, inspect, repair and re-assemble pumps and rotating equipment, ensuring work meets safety, quality and customer requirements.

The role requires reading schematics and manuals, solving problems and prioritising workload to meet deadlines. Overtime and a pension scheme are available in a collaborative, workshop environment.

Qualifications

  • Time-served fitter/engineer with a mechanical background.
  • Proven experience working with pumps and rotating equipment.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and manuals.

  • Flexible approach to tasks and working hours.

Responsibilities

Job description

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join an established and growing engineering business in Durham.The role will involve working on a varied range of equipment, from large multi-stage, high-pressure units through to smaller industrial pumps.The successful candidate will be responsible for the disassembly, inspection, repair and re-assembly of various rotating equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Package -

Up to £43,000 per annumMonday to Thursday08:00 until 16:30Friday07:30 until 13:30Company Pension SchemeOvertime rates applicable23 days holidays per year plus Bank Holidays

Responsibilities -
  • * Disassemble, inspect and repair pumps and other rotating equipment
  • * Re-assemble equipment to the required standards and specifications
  • * Complete work within agreed deadlines and to a high standard
  • * Assist with the preparation of technical reports in line with company and customer requirements
  • * Work in accordance with relevant industry standards and company procedures
  • * Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals
  • * Identify equipment issues and assist with effective problem solving
  • * Prioritise workloads to ensure agreed deadlines are achieved
  • * Work as part of a small, skilled engineering team
  • * Maintain a strong understanding of pumps and rotating equipment
  • * Work flexibly and undertake overtime when required

  • * Proven experience working with pumps and rotating equipment
  • * Strong mechanical engineering background
  • * Experience within a service, repair or workshop environment
