Job summary

Veolia is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead a team across multiple water and wastewater sites in London and the South. You will deliver both planned and reactive maintenance on dewatering equipment and related assets, ensuring work is performed safely and to plan.

With 5+ years’ industrial experience and an NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering maintenance, you will supervise subcontractors, manage RAMS, and coordinate with customers on-site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in an industrial environment with mechanical maintenance expertise.
• NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering maintenance or recognised apprenticeship.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites in Southern England.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of mechanical engineers/fitters across multiple water and wastewater sites.
• Deliver planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on dewatering and associated equipment.
• Carry out complex repairs, modifications, overhauls and asset replacements (pumps, pipework, valves, ancillaries).
• Provide day-to-day on-site supervision of employees and subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered safely and to plan.
• Act as the primary on-site point of contact for customers, coordinating activities with site teams and contractors.
• Work in line with CDM requirements, RAMS, and site rules.
• Complete permits to work, safety documentation, test reports and installation certificates.
• Support standby cover, overtime and flexibility to work away from home when required.
