Zusammenfassung

IonQ, Oxford Ionics, now part of IonQ, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own mechanical design from requirements through to manufacture. You will work on hardware surrounding the quantum processor, including cryostat requirements and supporting structures, collaborating with scientists and engineers.

You will produce CAD designs, BOMs, and assembly drawings, ensuring designs are buildable and documented in PLM. A degree in mechanical engineering and ~5 years in the field are expected.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Around five years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong understanding of assembly and manufacturing processes.
• Self-driven, proactive and able to work with scientists and engineers.

Aufgaben

• Mechanically integrate multiple sub-systems into one complete system.
• Produce 3D designs of system assemblies with detailed 2D drawings and BOMs.
• Design systems for vacuum pump down, gas handling and coolant management.
• Plan cabling, optical fibre, and other physical services routing.
• Gather requirements and roll out upgrades to system builds.
