Job summary

IonQ in Oxford is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join the Reliability Engineering team, owning the full lifecycle of electrical fixes for quantum hardware. You will identify bottlenecks, design fixes, and deploy upgrades across live systems to improve uptime and reduce operational costs.

The role requires strong analogue and mixed-signal expertise, Altium design control, and proven ability to document and standardize changes for future builds.

Qualifications

• Strong foundations in analogue and mixed-signal electronics design.
• Experience with reliability-focused root-cause analysis on hardware.
• Ability to translate problems into concrete engineering fixes and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, root-cause, and prioritize electronics and drive-electronics issues on live systems.
• Design, prototype, build, and test electrical fixes from concept to permanent integration.
• Lead fleet-wide reliability upgrades and standardize control electronics across systems.
• Coordinate with Operations and Science to deploy upgrades on live systems.
• Document fixes, update engineering docs, and support ECR processes.
