Job summary

Reed in Ripley, Derbyshire is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer with pressure vessel design experience to join its multidisciplinary engineering team. You’ll work on technically challenging projects, taking responsibility for mechanical design calculations and supporting equipment from initial engineering through to manufacture, testing and commissioning.

Candidates with 3+ years’ experience may apply, with senior opportunities for more experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience designing pressure vessels to ASME VIII, EN 13445, PD 5500 or AD 2000.
• Proficient with PV Elite or COMPASS pressure vessel software.
• Knowledge of materials, fabrication, welding, and pressure testing.
• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification and experience.

Responsibilities

• Design pressure vessels and related mechanical equipment to recognised international codes.
• Perform shell, nozzle, flange, and support calculations.
• Produce technical specifications and design documentation.
• Collaborate with CAD designers, thermal engineers and manufacturing teams.
• Support design reviews, customer discussions and technical approvals.
• Resolve engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
