Job summary

Reed is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for pressure equipment and energy projects based in Ripley, Derbyshire. You will design pressure vessels and heat exchangers, perform calculations and work on international codes.

You should have around 3+ years of relevant experience, be proficient with PV Elite and COMPASS, and be prepared to take ownership of projects from concept through to completion. The role offers exposure to multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing in a growing team.

Qualifications

• Experience with pressure vessel design calculations.
• Knowledge of at least one recognised pressure vessel code.
• 3+ years of relevant experience; senior level for ~6+ years.
• PV Elite and COMPASS or equivalent design software required.

Who we're looking for

You’ll have a mechanical engineering background, experience with pressure vessel design calculations and knowledge of at least one recognised pressure vessel code.

Experience with PV Elite, COMPRESS or equivalent design software is required.

Around 3+ years of relevant experience is normally expected, with senior–level consideration for engineers bringing approximately 6+ years and experience checking the work of others.

You don't need to know every pressure vessel code or already be experienced in every type of heat exchanger.
