Job summary

NUVIA UK in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on providing technical support for ongoing operations and future programmes in regulated facilities, ensuring safe and effective engineering services across assets.

You will author design substantiation, manage changes, and present to governance panels while developing safety and maintenance documentation for lifecycle assurance.

Qualifications

• Experienced Mechanical Engineer with background in industrial plant, equipment and machinery (pumps, generators).
• Knowledge of design standards, codes and British/European standards.
• Experience across full project lifecycle: concept to operations.
• Ability to assess mechanical plant design, performance and suitability in safety-critical environments.
• Proven ability to justify engineering modifications with robust documentation.
• Experience on multidisciplinary projects providing mechanical input.
• Experience with lifting equipment including EOT and mobile cranes.

Responsibilities

• Author and manage engineering design substantiation documentation for infrastructure and assets.
• Prepare and manage design changes, modifications and concessions.
• Present submissions to governance, assurance and safety panels.
• Develop EIMT schedules, procedures and evidence for compliance.
• Produce periodic safety and engineering assurance reviews.
• Provide technical advice to stakeholders.
• Develop scopes for ITA and IPR assessments.
• Support implementation of existing and emerging technologies.
