Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Birmingham is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their MEP team. The role involves producing MEP designs and ensuring compliance with project timelines and requirements. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of mechanical services design, good communication skills, and experience in BIM. This full-time position requires flexibility and the ability to travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical services design within built environment or transport infrastructure.
• Proficient in HVAC, Public Health, and Building Physics.
• Familiarity with project management and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Produce MEP designs as per instructions from Lead Engineer.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements and timelines.
• Plan allocated design works effectively.

Skills

Flexibility in working hours

Ability to travel to client sites

Knowledge of mechanical services design

Knowledge of multi-disciplinary M&E issues

Knowledge of construction principles and standards

Experience of BIM

Experience with Hevacomp and/or Thermal Modelling Design Software

Good communication and presentation skills

Self-motivated team player
