Job summary

Pertemps Network Group in Basingstoke is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complete mechanical building services for a range of sectors, including rail, defence, nuclear, data centres and healthcare. You will work within an established M&E team, coordinating with clients, contractors and design teams on technically demanding projects.

The role covers surveying, feasibility, detailed design and on-site delivery, with responsibility for drawings in AutoCAD

Qualifications

Experience in mechanical building services design within an engineering consultancy or M&E contractor.
Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit MEP; experience with Hevacomp or similar software.
Knowledge of BIM requirements and current building services standards.
Strong report-writing and specification-writing abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead multidisciplinary projects from initial survey and feasibility through detailed design and delivery.
Produce mechanical building services designs, specifications and technical reports.
Design heating, ventilation, cooling, domestic water and drainage systems.
Review designs for practicality, compliance and buildability; manage project programmes.
Produce and review drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP; perform mechanical calculations.
Liaise with clients, contractors and design teams; support business development.
Ensure work complies with CDM Regulations and current standards.
