Job summary

Pertemps Tm in Oxford is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services across multiple sectors from feasibility through to handover.

The role combines technical leadership with mentoring, site inspections and client-facing responsibilities, in a collaborative, hybrid-working environment with opportunities for progression and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 3-5 years' experience in mechanical building services design.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience delivering projects across multiple sectors.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services design.
• Experience using relevant mechanical design software.
• AutoCAD experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects.
• Carry out project surveys and feasibility studies.
• Produce mechanical designs, calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Manage projects from concept through to handover.
• Inspect sites and supervise mechanical installations.
• Provide contract administration throughout delivery.
• Manage project programmes, workflows and milestones.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with QA and industry standards.
• Collaborate with clients, architects and design teams.
• Assist with fee proposals, project finances and business development.
• Collaborate across multiple office locations.
