Job summary

Leonardo UK in Basildon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team, developing the next generation of sensors. You will apply mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing data practices across the full development lifecycle with hybrid working and on-site attendance when required.

You will collaborate with skilled engineers and scientists, produce designs for harsh environments, and contribute to reviews, testing, and transitions into production while pursuing ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with experience in Defence environments.
• Mechanical design for electronic/EO products and harsh environments (shock, vibration, temperature, EMC, salt fog).
• 3D CAD design using Creo and applying GD&T per BS8888.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical engineering solutions across the full lifecycle.
• Produce Manufacturing Data Packs per BS8888 and apply GD&T.
• Support design reviews and development builds; contribute to ME work packages.
