Job summary

Amentum in the United Kingdom is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Lightly Shielded Store (LSS1) project at Sellafield, Birchwood. You will lead and coordinate engineering activities across the full lifecycle, from concept through to manufacture, on a 7,200 m2 ILW store with a 100-year design life.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, chartered status or progression, and experience in highly regulated environments; familiarity with UKCA/CE Marking and related

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered or progressing toward chartered status with a recognized body (e.g. IMechE).
• Experience in highly regulated environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate engineering and design activities for yourself and others.
• Develop and implement engineering solutions across concept to manufacture and full project life cycle.
• Identify design, regulatory requirements and contribute to risk assessments.
• Produce technical reports, specifications and scoping calculations.
• Review technical deliverables and drawings.
• Present engineering solutions to stakeholders during design reviews.
