Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Professional Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to lead and deliver multiple projects from concept to RIBA stages, ensuring high quality mechanical design for diverse sectors. You will manage your workload, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across UK projects.

The role involves client liaison, design coordination, and delivering reliable mechanical services from initial calculations through to construction-stage activities,

Qualifications

• Accredited Building Services or Mechanical Engineering degree or higher qualification.
• Chartered status, or working towards chartership, is desirable.
• Experience delivering mechanical building services designs across multiple sectors from concept to RIBA stage 5/6, with knowledge of technical and legislative requirements for mechanical and public health services.
• Experience with sustainability, energy conservation, renewable technologies, fee estimates, bids, and security clearance (MOD SC level) is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver multiple low-complexity projects independently and support more complex projects under senior guidance.
• Carry out calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, site surveys, and construction-stage duties.
• Coordinate with internal and external design teams and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
