Job summary

Parker Jones Group Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support refurbishment, maintenance and upgrades of Ground Support Equipment (GSE). The role focuses on hands-on maintenance, fault-finding and diagnostics to ensure equipment readiness and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical maintenance experience, preferably from Defence, aerospace, GSE or heavy engineering backgrounds, with Level 3/4 engineering qualifications or equivalent and EngTech eligibility under UK-SPEC.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical maintenance, repair and fault-finding experience.
  • Defence, aerospace, GSE or heavy engineering background preferred.
  • Level 3/4 engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship/advanced or higher apprenticeship.
  • Eligible for EngTech registration under UK-SPEC.
  • Experience with testing, diagnostics, calibration and maintenance of mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Testing, diagnostics, repair, maintenance, modification and calibration of mechanical equipment.
  • Fault-finding and repairs through to component level.
  • Working from engineering documentation, ASI and OEM data.
  • Surveying equipment and recommending repairs, refurbishment and modifications.
  • Supporting reverse engineering and development of test procedures.
  • Providing technical advice and supervising junior staff/apprentices.
  • Working within engineering governance, safety and quality standards.
