Job summary

Hoare Lea is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer to join the Data Centre & Mission Critical team. You’ll work on data centre projects across the UK and Europe, from early concept through detailed plant design and commissioning.

You’ll lead design delivery, supervise engineers, engage directly with clients, and help optimise live facilities. The role blends technical challenge with mentoring and a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

Proven experience delivering mission-critical and data centre projects.
Strong HVAC, cooling plant, air distribution knowledge.
Experience with Revit, BIM workflows and AutoCAD.
Excellent client-facing consultancy experience.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design delivery for data centre and mission-critical projects.
Act as a senior client-facing engineer across design teams and stakeholders.
Prepare and review specifications, reports and technical deliverables.
Support site appraisals, feasibility, masterplanning and test-fit studies.
Oversee plant design, commissioning, handover and optimisation.
Mentor and develop engineers, apprentices and graduates.
