Job summary

Hoare Lea is seeking an Associate / Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer to join the Data Centre & Mission Critical team. You will lead design delivery across data centre and mission-critical projects, working directly with clients and cross-functional teams to develop reports, specifications and guidance.

The role requires strong HVAC and cooling knowledge, Revit/BIM experience, and a collaborative consultancy mindset. Hoare Lea offers flexible and hybrid working and a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering mission critical and data centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, cooling systems and heat rejection.
• Experience with Revit, BIM workflows and AutoCAD.
• Strong client-facing consultancy experience.
• Experience mentoring and supporting others.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design delivery for data centre and mission-critical projects.
• Act as a senior client-facing engineer across design teams and stakeholders.
• Prepare and review specifications, reports and technical deliverables.
• Support strategic site appraisals, feasibility, masterplanning and test-fit studies.
• Oversee plant design, commissioning, handover and operational optimisation.
• Support fee, resource and project delivery management.
• Mentor and develop engineers, apprentices and graduates.
