Job summary

Cambridge Design Partnership in Cambridge seeks a Senior Consultant Mechanical Engineer to lead complex client programmes from concept to manufacture. You will guide teams, ensure delivery quality, and develop others within a multidisciplinary service team.

Role requires leadership, client engagement, and strong engineering judgment, with responsibilities across technical, program, and business development activities. The position emphasizes advancing CDP’s offerings and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Track record leading complex projects and delivering outcomes.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coaching junior staff.
• Able to adapt approaches to changing client priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead client relationships and act as strategic partner across projects.
• Provide Technical Lead role for mechanical engineering work and reviews.
• Oversee development from concept to manufacturing readiness.
• Coach and develop junior engineers and project leaders.
• Drive continuous improvement and adoption of new tools.
