Job summary

Cambridge Design Partnership is seeking a Senior Consultant Mechanical Engineer to lead client programmes from concept to launch into manufacture, delivering high-quality medical and consumer devices. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, shape technical strategy, and develop others while ensuring delivery, quality and value for clients.

The role sits on our leadership path with opportunities to influence growth and industry impact.

Qualifications

• Track record of leading projects from concept through to production, taking responsibility for quality, time and profit.
• Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams, including coaching junior engineers or project leaders.
• Experience in regulated sectors such as medical devices, drug delivery or diagnostics is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead client relationships across projects, acting as a strategic partner who understands the client's business context and shapes work.
• Oversee mechanical engineering work as Technical Lead, ensuring quality, risk management and performance.
• Manage risks, issues and dependencies, keeping teams focused and delivering.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and project leaders to build team capability.
