Job summary

Cambridge Design Partnership is seeking a Senior Consultant Mechanical Engineer to lead complex projects from concept through launch into manufacture. You will provide leadership beyond delivery, mentor teams, and influence quality and client outcomes across medical devices, diagnostics and consumer products.

You will act as Technical Lead across projects, manage risks, drive continuous improvement, and develop people while growing client relationships and proposals in a fast-moving service team

Qualifications

• Degree educated in Mechanical Engineering; track record leading projects from concept to production.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring engineers or project leaders.
• Evidence of adapting to change, client priorities and new sectors or technologies.
• Commercial experience in technical/design consultancy, tech start-up or new product development.
• Experience writing proposals and building a client network; presentations at conferences.

Responsibilities

• Lead client engagement and strategic partnerships; shape work, proposals and opportunities.
• Act as Technical Lead for mechanical engineering, ensuring quality, risk management and delivery.
• Manage project delivery plans, budgets and multidisciplinary teams; mentor junior engineers.
