Job summary

4Square Recruitment Ltd is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer to lead from RIBA Stage 2 through Stage 4 across residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use projects. You will coordinate mechanical designs in Revit and work with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering teams to keep projects moving.

The role requires at least 5 years' UK building services experience, strong Revit capability, and hands-on HVAC and drainage design.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience in a UK building services or MEP consultancy.
• Strong Revit experience, taking mechanical designs from RIBA Stage 2 through to Stage 4.
• Practical HVAC and ventilation design experience.
• Experience with above-ground drainage and domestic hot and cold water systems.
• A relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a similar discipline.
• Confidence managing mechanical packages and communicating with clients and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from RIBA Stage 2 through to Stage 4 across multiple sectors.
• Coordinate designs in Revit with clients, architects, contractors and engineers.
• Carry out sizing, equipment selection and calculations.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, schedules and tender information.
• Review designs and support junior engineers.

The role

You'll lead mechanical design from RIBA Stage 2 through to Stage 4, working across sectors such as residential, commercial, retail and mixed–use. You'll coordinate designs in Revit and work with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering teams to keep projects moving.

Your work will include:

• Developing mechanical designs from RIBA Stage 2 concept through to Stage 4 technical design
• Designing and coordinating HVAC and ventilation systems
• Producing above–ground drainage designs
• Designing domestic hot and cold water services
• Carrying out calculations, equipment selection and system sizing
• Coordinating mechanical services in Revit and resolving clashes with other disciplines
• Preparing technical reports, specifications, schedules and tender information
• Reviewing designs and supporting the development of junior engineers

What we're looking for

• At least 5 years' experience in a UK building services or MEP consultancy
• Strong Revit experience, taking mechanical designs from RIBA Stage 2 through to Stage 4
