Job summary

PT Renewables is seeking a Mechanical Building Services Engineer (Intermediate/Senior) to lead mechanical design from concept to detailed design. You’ll work directly on HVAC, LTHW, CHW and public health systems, coordinating in Revit/BIM with architects and the wider team.

The role offers real progression to Senior/Principal and a collaborative, growing practice. You’ll bring strong consultancy/design & build experience, Proficient Revit/AutoCAD skills, and hands-on MagiCAD/Hevacomp/IES TAS

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical building services design background from consultancy or Design & Build.
• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Hands-on experience with MagiCAD, Hevacomp, IES VE or TAS.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication with clients, contractors and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from concept to detailed design (HVAC, LTHW, CHW, public health).
• Run loads, hydraulics and pipe sizing calculations.
• Layout plantrooms and select equipment.
• Write specifications, reports and technical schedules.
• Coordinate in Revit/BIM with architects and electrical teams.
• Attend client, design team and site meetings.
• See projects through construction, commissioning and handover.
• At Senior level, mentor junior engineers.

If you’re a mechanical building services engineer who’s tired of being one name on a drawing register at a big consultancy, here’s the alternative. An independent, director-led M&E consultancy where your designs go from first sketch to commissioning with your fingerprints all over them, and the person running the business knows exactly what you’ve delivered.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading mechanical design from concept to detailed design: HVAC, heating, cooling, LTHW, CHW and public health
• Running the numbers yourself: heating and cooling loads, hydraulics, pipe sizing
• Laying out plantrooms and selecting the kit
• Writing the specs, reports and technical schedules
• Coordinating in Revit / BIM with architects, electrical and the wider design team
• Getting out from behind the screen for client, design team and site meetings
• Seeing projects through construction, commissioning and handover, and sorting contractor queries along the way
• At Senior level, bringing junior engineers on

What you’ll bring

• A strong mechanical building services design background from consultancy or Design & Build
• Confidence in Revit and AutoCAD
• Hands-on experience with MagiCAD, Hevacomp, IES VE or TAS
• Real technical depth in HVAC and mechanical systems
• The ability to juggle multiple projects and hit deadlines
• The communication skills to hold your own with clients, contractors and the design team
