Leonardo UK in Luton is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to transform conceptual designs into fully engineered solutions. You will work with a Mechanical Design team, guiding products from concept through design reviews and supporting related electronics packaging in aerospace systems.

The role requires hands-on design using Creo, tolerance analysis, and cross-functional collaboration across UK sites and suppliers, with hybrid working options and a focus on manufacturability improvements.

Formación

• Technical or science degree, or equivalent, with aerospace electronics packaging experience.
• Experience in GD&T, tolerance studies and MBD approach to documentation.
• Experience with CAD and structural analysis and production support.

Responsabilidades

• Perform mechanical design and development using 3D CAD with a hands-on approach.
• Deliver innovative, optimised engineering solutions within budget and timescales.
• Manage own elements of the engineering work package.
• Formulate prototype designs and physical representations.
• Provide support to critical technical investigations and problem solving.
• Contribute to manufacturability improvements through liaison with other engineering functions.
• Preliminary sizing analyses (hand calculations and Creo Simulate).
• Support visits and meetings at UK sites and suppliers when required.
