Job summary

BMR Solutions Ltd, in partnership with Edwards, seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer for Bristol with hybrid working. You will lead a small team in developing next-generation semiconductor equipment from concept to production.

You'll combine hands-on technical leadership with governance, ensuring compliant and manufacturable solutions on schedule, while mentoring engineers across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience leading engineering teams or major projects.
• Strong governance, safety and regulatory knowledge.
• Experience in semiconductor equipment or high-tech manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineering delivery of complex product development and technology projects.
• Provide technical leadership and leadership for a team of ~6 Mechanical Engineers.
• Plan, allocate and coordinate engineering work packages across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure designs meet customer, stakeholder and regulatory requirements.
• Champion best practice in mechanical engineering, product safety, quality and reliability.
• Lead engineering design reviews, risk assessments and technical decision making.
• Support products from concept through development, validation and into volume manufacture.
• Develop subject matter expertise in specialist areas of semiconductor equipment design.
• Mentor and develop engineers, promoting continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
